Yoast SEO for Drupal 8

Yoast SEO for Drupal

Yoast SEO for Drupal 8 was one of the much awaited Drupal modules.

Yoast SEO WordPress plugin is a big hit in WordPress blogger community. But this plugin was missing from Drupal contributed modules list since a long time, but now wait is over. Yoast SEO for Drupal module is made available in Drupal by Yoast SEO & GoalGorilla.

As this module is new to Drupal I am writing this blog about How to use this module in an effective way to achieve maximum results.

First thing first, As per any other Drupal module you need to download this module from official d.org page (link: https://www.drupal.org/project/yoast_seo)Yoast SEO for Drupal

Keep this module in your modules directory and enable it from module list page.

After enabling this module, you might want to give permission to different user roles depending on your requirement. If you have “content writer” role then for this role you need to enable “Use Yoast SEO for Drupal” this permission for Drupal permission grid.

Now you need to decide which all content types should use this module feature, so go to configurations section and select content type of your choice e.g.  admin/config/yoast_seo, At the bottom of page you will able to see "CONFIGURE YOAST SEO BY BUNDLES". Select appropriate content types and save the settings.

Now we are done with the setup of this module, Let’s check How to use this module. Head on the “Add content” form for the content type you enabled this setting.

Start writing content as usual, when you are done with all blog writing, scroll down a little bit to find Yoast SEO section.

Now our SEO operations start here:

1. Enter your keywords in “Focus Keyword” text box right after this you will able to see the list of suggestions.
2. Go through the list of suggestions and try to modify your content as much possible.

3. Regarding “Snippet editor” this section is editable and you can modify as per your need. These are nothing but meta title and meta description for your blog. If you feel editing this “Snippet editor” section is less user-friendly than our old Drupal meta title is the best way to add meta title

You can see the suggestion will turn red to green as you modify the content of your blog, I modified some of the text to achieve "SEO: Good" remark see below.

Post your feedback in comment section below and feel free to share this blog. Cheers.
