How to pass CSM test with flying colors? ScrumAlliance

I recently passed Scrum Alliance CSM test with 92%. I studied scrum concepts for one week after formal training of 2 days from Certified scrum trainer. How to pass CSM test? CSM course is practical oriented so two-days training is the most important thing of this course. After completing the training candidate must pass CSM test within 90 days to become certified ScrumMaster

Below are some of the tips to clear this test with less preparation.
  1. Understand the Rules and Roles in the scrum.
  2. Understand all of the artefacts of the scrum.
  3. Take a good look at all of the events/ceremonies in the scrum.
  4. Scenarios with multiples scrum teams and their integration for single product delivery.
  5. Agile vision, agile manifesto, Product vision.

Must important documents for study are 1. official scrum guide 2. Scrum Primer. I found scrum primer more helpful than official scrum guide.
  1.Official scrum guide:
  2.Scrum Primer:

Mock tests play the very important role to get comfortable with the type of questions and MCQ answers.
Note that most of the mock questions are very much easy as compared to CSM exam. CSM exam questions are tough and mostly scenario based.

You can take mock tests for practice.
1. Scrum Open – 30 mock questions.
2. Mock Exam 4 U  Test – 50 questions each test. (Sometimes doesn't work but try your luck)
3. Scrum Source – This website has 3 mock tests with 30 questions each
You can get general information about Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster on the official website here.

Happy Learning.

Just want to say thanks for providing the links to the mock tests. Some of the links provided are not complete; showing ellipses instead and hence the link does not work. Would you be able to update to provide the correct links?

Hi Uma, Just started preparing for the Scrum master certification.
Wanted to understand if the Scrum Master training is mandatory for attempting the certification and need to know the total costs involved.

Could you kindly help me here?
Also, is it sufficient if we glance through all the mock tests and read all the links to pass the certifications.

Hi ,

For Scrum Alliance certification classroom training is compulsory.
For classroom training is optional.

The two guides and mock tests are sufficient.
1.Official scrum guide:
 2.Scrum Primer:

I have passed CSM with 92%, did some mock tests. it was not that hard what i thought while preparing the test. I suggest to Read the SCRUM GUIDE minimum 3 times, that will help you a lot.

I nailed this CSM with 92%. It wasn't that hard than what i though wile preparing the exam.
Please Read the Scrum Guide more that twice, that way you know you will get more understanding about the rules/roles/events/artifacts etc involved in it. Thanks UmaRani for this page.

This article is really helpful. I have also passed the exams with 90% which was not that hard because of the Practice CSM Exams I had. It includes more than 1000 questions which were the main reason for me to like them. It will be really effective for actual CSM Exam Questions. Must-Try!

Good post. Thanks for your all valuable tips. I have done scrum master certification training in leanwisdom. They have highly experienced trainers who have huge experience in implementation. I have a great experience with them and recently I have completed safe agilist certification also .
